My vision is centred around helping people and organisations define and achieve their goals, by sharing knowledge and connecting ideas in balanced, pragmatic, and interesting ways. I seek to fulfil this vision through a focus on people, a passion for process and trust in data.
I thrive on making things easier for people. Collaboration and information sharing are important, but I don’t just talk about doing things; I like to get my hands dirty and get them done. I believe the best outcomes can be achieved when there is mutual respect and an intention to reach favourable outcomes for all parties.
My education includes a foundation in maths and science, a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology, studying Lean principles at the source in Japan, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSS GB) and an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA).
Furthermore, I have consistently maintained my passion for learning through various certifications and self-managed studies including an ICAgile Certified Professional certificate, a Visual Management Master Class, the IIBA’s Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), a Certificate IV in Training and Education (TAE), advanced studies in Microsoft Excel and Project Management, a Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and certificates in Following Workplace Hygiene and Implementing Food Safety Procedures.
Mentoring has also played a crucial role in my education and development, as I am always eager for opportunities to learn from and/ or help others. I see the relationship between a mentor and mentee as fluid, interchangeable, ranging from formal to casual and always an opportunity to learn.
My career background has been diverse, including focuses on strategy, people, process, data, functions, and operations across various industries. I am most engaged when part of a team clear about their roles and committed to a shared vision of success.
My ability to self-actualise, combined with the diversity of my experiences and passion for performance makes me ideally placed to fit in with a range of team cultures, cover gaps in capability and/ or provide support where it’s needed most.
Some of the most significant experiences in my career are:
